With their second pick in the second round at #52 overall, the Hurricanes selected University of Michigan defenseman Luke Martin. Martin a hulking defenseman.

Luke Martin profile

Luke Martin is a University of Michigan defenseman and also a product of the United States Development Program. The first thing that jumps out about Martin is his size. At only 18 years old, Martin already stands 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 216 pounds. He has work to do to round out and develop his game, but if he does so successfully, he projects to be a big, physical stay-home defenseman who plays with an edge.
