After a bit of a delay for the burst four games in six nights to kick off the season, here is part 2b of 2 predicting over or under for individual Canes players for the 2018-19 season.
We also challenge everyone to log one outlandish prediction in the comments below, so we can look back in May or June and mostly chuckle but also hopefully find a couple brilliant predictions.
Part 1 which is HERE was more team focused.
Part 2 had players Sebastian Aho through Martin Necas.

Discussion questions and predictions

Go Canes!
It is tough to “grade” individual players when, in reality, things are linked. The best example from above is Staal and Williams. Last year they were both offense-limited when McGinn was on the line. This year Foegele’s presence makes the line much better offensively and all 3 players should be putting in the points as they have been doing.
I would make the same type of argument for Wallmark – his points are up because he is on a line with chemistry. On a more standard 4th line his totals won’t be there.
Most outlandish prediction – Darling wins the Vezina (and with Foegele or Svech winning the Calder the Canes get two of the league’s top individual awards).
Zykov doesn’t hit 20 if he doesn’t play, and RBA still hasn’t found a role for him.
This is a fantastic comment “It is tough to “grade” individual players when, in reality, things are linked.” . You bring up a great example.
Predict Darling ends up in Charlotte by Xmas.
MAC wins 35 games and Canes make two major acquisitions to drive the team into the playoffs and win at least one round!
Wow. Both ends of the spectrum right out of the gate. We have a range of Darling for Vezina and Darling in the AHL by December.
He is definitely a player with a wide range of possibilities who will be interesting to watch when he makes it into the lineup.
Seems like I voted opposite of everyone else on every question.
I’m thinking Necas heads down to the AHL once Rask is back unless he really catches fire.
I also think TVR only returns to his prime form from last season if he makes it back on the right side.
Svechnikov and Foegele move to the same line and together, each score 100 points.
McIlhenney stays with the team and I learn how to spell his name by the end of the season.
That is sooooo outlandish, you’ll never learn how to spell Mac..??
LOL…
If you just buy one more vowel, an E, you’ll have it right. My prediction is he is soon be out on waivers and will only be in NC when the Marlies play the Checkers.
The closest to outlandish for me is a prediction that Rask’s return will be the equivalent of a high quality acquisition at the time of his return. The additional time off will be good for his shoulder rehab and he will be better than any season before.
Another prediction would be the “committee” is looking hard to trade quality for quality. There will an element of using cap space for the trading partner to sweeten the deal (Example, when Colorado obtained Grubauer and Orpik for a second round pick, they proceeded to buyout Orpik allowing the Caps to resign Orpik at a $3million cap savings and use the new cap space to resign Carlson.) Find a team with a very good young center/forward, a good player with a bad contract, impending cap problems and in need of a right handed defense man and you may find that team.
