After a long summer, the hockey gods have bestowed a nice helping of neatly spaced Hurricanes hockey around the upcoming weekend.
Between the Traverse City NHL prospects tourney and Team Finland in the World Cup of Hockey, there will be Hurricanes players in action for 5 consecutive days starting on Friday, and it now appears that all of it might be televised in some form. (Note that Bill Peters is also participating as a coach for Team Canada.)
I already wrote a short preview for the Traverse City NHL prospects tourney which you can find HERE.
Between that and the World Cup preliminary round games for Finland, here is your nice run of Hurricanes-ish hockey to get you through most of another week.
Hurricanes schedule (games with Hurricanes players participating)
Friday 4pm: Traverse City – Carolina Hurricanes prospects vs. Rangers (streaming from Red Wings site)
Saturday 7pm: Traverse City – Carolina Hurricanes prospects vs. Wild (streaming from Red Wings site)
Sunday 8pm: World Cup – Finland vs. North America (ESPN2)
Monday 6:30pm: Traverse City – Carolina Hurricanes prospects vs. Stars (streaming from Red Wings site)
Tuesday 3pm: World Cup – Finland vs. Sweden (ESPN)
Tuesday TBD: Traverse City – Carolina Hurricanes prospects vs. TBD based on round robin results (streaming from Red Wings site)
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that the Red Wings will be streaming all games, not just the Red Wings games for the Traverse City tourney.
So do a shopping run for your favorite hockey snacks and block off your calendar over the next week.
Go Canes!
