Does anyone else think of Labor Day as the “holiday before hockey?” That is what I termed years ago since the start of training always sits roughly a week behind Labor Day weekend.

We are getting close to finally having more real news once training camp starts, but this week is still a bit quiet on the news front.

Carolina Hurricanes prospects

Dave McCarthy from NHL.com checks in on Jake Bean and his goals entering training camp.

If have not kept up, Canes and Coffee’s ‘Back to School’ series on Hurricanes prospects below the AHL level finished up the 2017 draft class and started on the 2016 draftees. You can find a clickable menu of all of those articles HERE.

Carolina Hurricanes veterans

Josh Beneteau from Sportsnet in Canada writes about Cam Ward’s likely reduced role behind Scott Darling.

Chip Alexander has both a video interview and written article on Justin Williams and his thoughts on the Hurricanes and his return.

Other Hurricanes news

Andrew Schnittker from the Technician has five numbers that need to change for the Hurricanes to make the playoffs.

Go Canes!
