As I write this, we have inched almost a full week into August and closer to September when we can see the light at the end of the tunnel with training camp leading fairly quickly into real hockey.
Yet again, Hurricanes general manager Ron Francis generously offered up a bit of significant hockey news this week, when he inked defenseman Brett Pesce to a six-year contract extension.
