We need your help identifying the last two Hurricanes greats to round out our 50ish players to be included in a fun August event! (see details at the bottom)
With August here, we are officially in the dog days of hockey summer with real new news bits few and far between. To pass the time and as sort of a part of Canes and Coffee’s launch, we will be doing a summer event help fill August with a bit of fun and nostalgia.
The event will kick off in time for lunchtime reading next Monday, August 10 and will fill up most of the time until training camp starts in September. I will wait to post more details in the next few days but the general theme is to take a trip down Canes memory lane and yammer a bit about the great Canes players past and present.
With a bit of help, I compiled a list of Canes greats, but left two slots open for fan write ins just in case I missed anyone. So I am asking you to submit write in votes for up to two more players via any of four ways (whichever you prefer)
1-Twitter send to @CanesandCoffee and/or using hashtag #CandCAugust.
2-Commenting to this blog.
3-Using the web form at the bottom of the main page or About Us page.
4-Simple email. It’s gmail.com and just the full site name with no hyphens, underscores or anything else.

Brandon Sutter. Still have a home jersey with an ‘A’ on it. Sure fire way to get someone traded!
I always liked watching Sutter in a Canes jersey, never very electric but he always knew where to be. Can’t believe he got 4+ mil a year though….
He’s a character guy and a good hockey player. Is he worth $4M per, no. His ability to score short handed put me on the edge of my seat during the PK while he was here.
I hated the deal for Jordan when we could have gotten him the next season for nothing. We would be much better icing a Staal, Staal, Sutter combo at center.
Sergei Samsonov?
