On Sunday, Alex Nedeljkovic and Josh Wesley were traded from the Flint Firebirds to the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League for goaltender Brent Moran and five draft picks. News of a potential deal were first reported by HockeyProspect’s Mark Edwards late Saturday Afternoon prior to Flint’s game against Sarnia. OHL Insider broke details of the deal on Sunday evening before the official release from the teams.

Expect both players to make their debuts for the IceDogs tonight. Nedeljkovic will have the opportunity to make three starts this week before he is expected to be gone for the following four weeks as he joins USA Hockey’s U20 World Junior Hockey Championship selection camp. He is expected to be one of three goalies to travel to Finland for the tournament.

I hope to have interviews with a few people who regularly cover the OHL later this week.

Sebastian Aho (F, FIN) and Alex Nedeljkovic (G, USA) were both named to their country’s respective World Junior Hockey Championship selection camps. They join Haydn Fleury and Roland McKeown, who were both named to Hockey Canada’s camp last week, as potential players for the WJHC that begins on December 26.
