This edition of Sunday Canes Chronicle finds us in the middle of a fairly busy weekend of real hockey between the Hurricanes prospects playing in the Traverse City NHL prospects tourney and Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen playing for Team Finland in the World Cup of Hockey.

Those 2 tourneys are the focus of most of the external articles rounded up for this week.

Also note that I am tied up the vast majority of Friday evening through Sunday mid-day, so if time permits, I might add a few Traverse City and WCoH Finland updates late Sunday once I resurface.

Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen and the World Cup of Hockey

Accolades for Hurricanes rookie Sebastian Aho keep coming even before he plays his first NHL game. This week, Finnish legend and fellow countryman Teemu Selanne had high praise for Sebastian Aho.

Dan Rosen who is a senior writer at nhl.com discusses both Teuvo Teravainen’s and Sebastian Aho’s situation in his notebook for Team Finland for the World Cup of Hockey.

Chris Kuc from the Chicago Tribune has a brief interview with Teuvo Teravainen asking him about his trade from the Blackhawks to the Hurricanes.

Canes and Coffee’s newest addition to the team, Cory Fogg, wrote about what he saw from Aho in Finland’s last exhibition game which was Aho’s first game action leading up the the tournament.

Hurricanes prospects at Traverse City NHL prospects tournament

Other hockey action sees a team of primarily pre-AHL Hurricanes prospects (with a few experienced AHLers sprinkled in) playing in the Traverse City tournament.

Kevin LeBlanc from Dobber Prospects has this tournament preview that covers all 8 NHL prospect teams.

Michael Smith from the Carolina Hurricanes wrote a tourney preview from the scene of the Hurricanes prospects’ practice in Traverse City which  features some great video footage to boot.

Chris Cote from CC on Canes offers this Traverse City tourney preview for the Hurricanes. (Scroll down to September 12 entry.)

Canes and Coffee’s Traverse City tourney preview was also posted earlier in the week in case you missed it.
