As expected (and hoped by some who feared the team might overthink a good thing), the Carolina used the #2 overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft to select Andrei Svechnikov.

Here is a collection of reading on the right wing from Russia who could compete for an NHL roster spot for the 2018-19 season. My hope is to add more entries once I find time to do additional time digging on Google. If you have read other good articles, please let us know (email, webform or Twitter), so we can add to our library of Andrei Svechnikov summer reading for the Caniac Nation.

Local coverage

Interview by Mary Dunleavy for WRALSportsFan.com during Svechnikov’s visit to Raleigh last week. If you have not watched this interview yet, I highly recommend it. The interview is a bit choppy in places, but what stands out to me is his incredible poise in a long interview and how he seemed reasonably comfortable even when he was unclear with a couple questions.

Luke DeCock from the News & Observer also covered Svechnikov’s visit to Raleigh.

Michael Smith at CarolinaHurricanes.com penned this profile of Andrei Svechnikov earlier this week.

Kevin LeBlanc at Canes Country posted this profile for Andrei Svechnikov.
