A huge thank you to everyone who supported the launch and inaugural season for Canes and Coffee!
Canes and Coffee will be forever indebted to the founding group that offered both encouragement and contributions to the Kickstarter campaign last June. I am also thankful every day for the Canes fans who make Canes and Coffee a small part of their Carolina Hurricanes hockey passion.
Finally, I wish that every Canes fan could see our Hurricanes hockey community through the same lens that I have over the past 10 months. Our hockey community is incredibly resilient, passionate and powerful. I am incredibly proud to be a small part of this community.
As for coverage during the offseason, expect a ton.
Jordan Futrell will cover the close of the Charlotte Checkers season this week and hopfully the playoffs after that.
I will be taking a short break to catch my breath before starting into a busy offseason. 2015-16 team and player evaluations are already partially written. Bandying around how best to build the 2016-17 team for the first summer when GM Ron Francis actually has a budget should be an absolute blast. And there are plans to make some cool additions to the gradually developing “digital museum.
Thank you again!
Keep the faith! We are going to the playoffs next season.
And please look for more from Canes and Coffee starting either late this week or the front part of the next week.
Go Canes!
Matt Karash
Thanks for the great coverage all season from everyone at c&c it is greatly appreciated, especially by those of us who are long distance caniacs.
Canes and Coffee is the maim way I keep track with off the ice news and with prospects. This site more than just a small part of the community. Thanks for all the effort this season, and here’s to hoping next season is better.
I concur with the above comments, and look forward to the info, and discussion on summertime acquisitions, moves, etc….!
Good job with all your work and efforts!
Free Agency…Canes need to push hard and even overpay for Okposo and Lucic. They bring scoring and more importantly much needed toughness and grit.
By losing Staals 8-9mil and Wards 6-7 mil coming off the books they have more than enough $$ to land these players. They both had more pts than anyone on Canes. Francis make it happen.
